PIN box (a person)

What it is

The box where you type a person's PIN. It shows when the person has no PIN yet, or after you click Change.

What to enter

Exactly 4 digits, for example a number the person chooses. Do not reuse a PIN that is easy to guess.

What it changes

In the house: The PIN is turned into a scrambled code at once. Only that code goes to the hub at Save & Deploy. The hub uses it to check the PIN when someone signs in on a phone.

In the app: The person signs in to the app with this PIN. If the project is bound to a home, the PIN is also kept, locked, by LuxeLife so Show can show it later. It is never kept in the project file.

If it goes wrong

• Fewer than 4 digits: the box stays open and the PIN is not changed.
• Left empty after Change: nothing changes, the old PIN still works.
• PIN saved in the project, but not kept for Show — set it again later to make it viewable: the PIN works, but Show cannot show it. Set it again later.
• The new PIN works on phones only after Save & Deploy.
