Address (Global Caché unit)
Screen: Room Devices — Global Caché unit box (opened from + New Global Caché unit… in an IR Unit or AC System list).
What it is
The unit's IP address on the house network. The hub talks to it directly on port 4998. No Crestron is needed.
What to enter
An IPv4 address, for example 192.168.1.40. Give the unit a fixed address in the router first.
What it changes
In the house: Kept when you press Add. At the next Save & Deploy the hub gets the address (only if something with a code uses the unit) and connects to it.
In the app: Every IR source, TV and IR AC on this unit sends through this address when someone presses a button in the app.
If it goes wrong
- Add refuses anything that is not four numbers with dots, and says An IPv4 address on the house network. The box stays open.
- A right-looking but wrong address: the hub logs that it cannot connect, and every IR press on that unit fails with a reason in the app.
