What it is

The Short forms box on each floor card. It holds short words that mean this floor, such as GF or FLG, each shown as a small token with an ×.

What to enter

Type a short form and press Enter or a comma. Several can be typed at once with spaces between them. Backspace in an empty box removes the last one. A short form that already belongs to another floor is refused, and a line under the floor says which floor owns it.

What it changes

In the app: Short forms are used by Generate names: when device names are made shorter, these words are dropped, together with the floor name and the room name. The line under the floor shows a preview of what will be dropped. The app then shows the shorter names after the next Save & Deploy, if Generate names was used.

In the house: Nothing directly. Only the names that Generate names makes reach the hub.

If it goes wrong

If a word you need is being removed from device names, take it out of the short forms. If a short form is refused, it is already on another floor; remove it there first.
